Implementing Real-Time Stream Processing for Enhanced Monitoring

To overcome the challenges posed by delayed data access, we replaced SA Taxi’s batch processing system with real-time stream processing using Google Cloud Dataflow and Google Pub/Sub. Data from vehicle tracking devices is now fed directly into a BigQuery data warehouse, allowing for immediate processing and analysis.

Building a Real-Time Dashboard for Fleet Management

To provide SA Taxi’s analysts with the tools they need to monitor and manage their fleet effectively, we developed a user dashboard using Apache Solr and Vue.js. This dashboard offers real-time search, filtering, and analytical capabilities, enabling analysts to promptly identify and address issues such as fraud, theft, and driver non-compliance.

Facilitating Better Decision-Making and Safety

The solution is hosted on Google App Engine and Google Compute Engine, ensuring that SA Taxi can access critical data from anywhere with ease. This accessibility facilitates better decision-making and enhances both vehicle and passenger safety. With a scalable and future-proof data infrastructure in place, SA Taxi is now better equipped to manage its growing fleet and explore new possibilities for innovation.
